Harry Ramsden's and DFDS Ferries Join Forces to Serve Fish and Chips at Sea
In an exciting new partnership, the world-renowned fish and chips brand Harry Ramsden's has announced its collaboration with DFDS Ferries, a leading ferry operator in Europe. Beginning in Spring 2025, travelers on DFDS routes from Dover to Calais and Dover to Dunkirk will be able to enjoy the iconic Harry Ramsden's fish and chips while at sea.
A Culinary British Experience
This partnership represents a significant enhancement of the onboard dining experience for ferry passengers. Six DFDS vessels, including the UK-flagged
Delft Seaways,
Dover Seaways, and the French-flagged
Dunkerque Seaways, will feature Harry Ramsden's offerings. The initiative is expected to be fully operational by the Easter holiday of 2025.
The
Proudly Serving model of Harry Ramsden's is designed to bring the brand's legendary dish to new audiences in a flexible and scalable format. Each dish will be meticulously prepared using sustainably sourced ingredients, including the brand's secret-recipe batter and premium potatoes grown on trusted British farms.
Commitment to Quality and Sustainability
Harry Ramsden's emphasizes that all fish served will have Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification, sourced from responsibly managed fisheries. Moreover, the use of fully recyclable packaging aligns perfectly with DFDS's commitment to promoting sustainable operations and a greener future.
To ensure the highest quality, the partnership will employ comprehensive training, branded packaging, and operational oversight, reflecting the renowned standards associated with Harry Ramsden's worldwide fame.
Looking ahead, there are plans to expand the menu to include additional items from the Harry Ramsden's range, potentially launching in the summer of 2025. James Low, CEO of Deep Blue Restaurants—which acquired Harry Ramsden's in 2019—stated:
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to exceptional customer experiences. By bringing our world-famous fish and chips to the high seas, we continue our mission to share Britain's cherished tradition with travelers across the globe.”
DFDS Ferries is equally enthusiastic about this collaboration. Steven Newbery, Director of Global Onboard Services, expressed excitement at the prospect of enhancing their offering for passengers:
“The fish and chips remain a holiday favorite onboard, and we are confident that, together with Harry Ramsden's, we can consistently deliver the quality that our customers expect.”
Looking Forward to a Flavorful Voyage
As the launch date approaches, passengers will soon find themselves savoring the classic flavors of Harry Ramsden's as they embark on their journeys with DFDS Ferries this spring. This innovative culinary endeavor not only delivers on quality and tradition but also reaffirms a commitment to sustainability in a delightful way.
