BOUSAI ACTION 2026: A Family-Friendly Disaster Preparedness Event

On September 5, 2026, the Digital Hollywood University (DHU) will co-host the "BOUSAI ACTION 2026" event alongside the Kanda Fire Department. This initiative aims to educate families and friends about disaster preparedness through engaging and fun experiences. It will take place at the WATERRAS Plaza and WATERRAS Common in Chiyoda, Tokyo, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

The event is free of charge and does not require prior reservation, although some content will operate on a lottery basis. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to learn about disaster preparedness, both fun and informative, targeting participants of all ages.

Main Area - WATERRAS Common

• - Talk Session with Students and Experts: This will be the central attraction. Further details will be shared via the official website closer to the event.
• - VR Experience of a Major Earthquake - B-VR: Participants can immerse themselves in a virtual reality simulation crafted by the Tokyo Fire Department, where they will experience what occurs during a metropolitan earthquake. This engaging experience aims to educate on safety measures one should take.

WATERRAS Plaza Area

• - Vehicle Exhibitions: Visitors can closely inspect a fire truck and a doctor’s car, learning about their vital roles in emergencies.
• - Ladder Truck and Seismic Simulator Experience: Under the guidance of firefighters, attendees can board a ladder truck and safely experience the tremors of a magnitude 7 earthquake simulator. This hands-on experience will reinforce disaster preparedness.
• - Initial Fire Fighting and AED Training: Participants will have the opportunity to engage in firefighting demonstrations and learn lifesaving techniques using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
• - Performances by the Tokyo Fire Department’s Music Band and Color Guards: Enjoy captivating performances that enhance the festive atmosphere of the event.
• - BOUSAI FES 2026: Live performances featuring singer-songwriters will provide a delightful musical ambiance, encouraging passing visitors to join the event.
• - Disaster Puzzle Adventure: Participants can solve witty puzzles related to various disaster situations while walking around. Successful contestants will receive a prize, aimed primarily at juniors to encourage their engagement.

Participation Instructions

The mobile app "Disaster Me" can be downloaded to enhance your participation, including a digital stamp rally. Attendees are encouraged to download this before the event for a smoother experience.

About "Disaster Me"

This volunteer group from Fukushima focuses on raising awareness and promoting a new style of disaster management under the mission "No one left behind." The organization conducts educational projects, manages a disaster information website, and engages with the community via social media.
