Great Wall Motor's Strategic Expansion in European Market Commences

Great Wall Motor's Strategic Expansion in Europe

Great Wall Motor (GWM), a major player in the automotive sector, has announced its ambitious plans for strategic growth in the European market. This announcement marks the conclusion of a significant period of strategic realignment and underscores GWM's commitment to expanding its presence in Europe.

During the GWM Europe Partner Day held on October 15, 2025, the company revealed that by the end of the first half of 2026, it will introduce at least seven new models and derivatives, including the popular Haval product line, making their debut in Europe. This is a crucial step in GWM's expansion strategy, and the models will primarily consist of SUVs of various sizes and categories.

With over 35 years of experience in the SUV and 4x4 technology sectors, GWM's new offerings will include two-wheel drive vehicles and intelligent four-wheel hybrid systems known as Hi4. Furthermore, GWM plans to launch a new range of compact urban vehicles under the GWM ORA brand, targeting the growing demand for urban mobility solutions.

The forthcoming product lineup is expected to feature a diverse range of powertrains, catering to a wide audience. This includes entry-level internal combustion engines, economical hybrid electric vehicles, long-range hybrid electric vehicles, and emission-free Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV). By adopting this flexible strategy, GWM aims to attract a broader customer base in Europe.

In addition to new model launches, GWM is also intensifying its efforts to penetrate other European markets. The company plans to establish fully independent sales companies in key markets such as Spain and Italy, marking its first foray into direct market operations in Europe. In smaller markets, GWM will continue to collaborate with independent importers, leveraging local expertise to enhance the selling and servicing of its vehicles.

At the GWM Europe Partner Day, more than a hundred potential partners from 12 European markets expressed strong interest in GWM's projects. The engineering capabilities and business opportunities presented by GWM have won the trust of participants, who recognize the potential for collaboration. Parker Shi, President of GWM International, emphasized the importance of transparency, understanding, and trust as foundational elements for forming genuine partnerships. The majority of attendees reaffirmed their commitment to GWM's European partner network for 2026 through letters of intent.

GWM is determined to significantly grow its European operations starting from the second half of 2026 and will soon provide more detailed information regarding this strategic approach. With a solid plan in place and strong potential partnerships, GWM is poised to become a prominent player in the European automotive market, offering innovative vehicles that meet diverse consumer needs.
