Equip Exposition Celebrates Prestige as America's Third Largest Trade Show

Equip Exposition Gains Recognition as Third Largest U.S. Trade Show

In a remarkable achievement, the Equip Exposition has proudly been named the third largest trade show in the United States by Trade Show Executive's prestigious Gold 100 Awards. Held annually in Louisville, Kentucky, this event stands as a prominent gathering for landscapers, contractors, dealers, and outdoor power equipment manufacturers, asserting its influence and significant role in the industry.

Kris Kiser, the President of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI), which organizes the expo, expressed his excitement about this accolade. Kiser remarked, "This designation recognizes the incredible strength of Equip’s exhibitors and the show’s programming. Our team works year-round to curate an event that not just showcases equipment but also provides meaningful learning and networking opportunities for attendees." The Equip Exposition's commitment to excellence is evident, with extensive planning ensuring that participants experience a show tailored to their needs.

One of the key highlights of this annual event is its expansive 30-acre Outdoor Demo Yard, where attendees can engage with the latest outdoor power equipment firsthand. Mowing, mulching, cutting, and even testing out four-wheel workhorses on accessible tracks, participants can experience the equipment they depend on daily while gaining knowledge about its applications. This unique hands-on experience is complemented by workshops that tackle pressing business challenges, fostering an interactive learning environment.

For five consecutive years, Equip's trade show floor has sold out well in advance of the event, showcasing the increasing popularity and growth of the trade show. Last year alone, it drew approximately 30,000 registered contractors and manufacturers who explored a staggering 1.2 million square feet of exhibit space. The event has shown impressive growth, reporting a 12% increase in landscape contractor attendance and 17% among dealers since the previous year.

Not only has the event excelled in attendance and exhibitor numbers, but it has also been recognized in multiple categories for Trade Show Executive's Gold 100 Grand Awards. Among the accolades, Equip Exposition was a finalist for "The Marketing Genius Award," "The Best Attendee Acquisition Model," and "The Stickiest Show Floor in 2025." Since OPEI took over the management and rebranded the show in 2022, Equip has been nominated for 19 Grand Awards, winning several prestigious recognitions including "The Greatest Trade Show of 2024" and several others highlighting its innovative spirit.

Looking ahead, the Equip Exposition will be held from October 20 to 23, 2026, at the Kentucky Exposition Center, marking its continuous evolution. Starting in 2029, the expo will shift to a biannual event, alternating between Louisville and Orlando, with the latter hosting the show in 2029 and 2031. This strategic rotation aims to enhance accessibility and reach a wider audience.

In addition to the exhibitions, attendees will have numerous opportunities for networking and powerful learning experiences. Equip Academy workshops will allow participants to take valuable content back to their businesses, enriching what they learn throughout the expo.

The event's social aspects are equally engaging, with a lineup of activities including a welcome reception at Churchill Downs, a downtown concert, and a closing block party, all sponsored by key industry players.

As the Equip Exposition continues to grow in stature and significance, it remains dedicated to serving the landscape and outdoor power equipment industries. With its impressive numbers, accolades, and engaging activities designed for professionals, it firmly sets the stage as a leading event that both addresses current challenges and celebrates success within the industry. Attendees can register at a competitive price of $60, which will rise to $120 closer to the event date.
