Memphis School Fair Promotes Educational Choices for Families

Memphis School Fair to Highlight Educational Options for Families

In the heart of Memphis, Tennessee, an exciting event is set to take place on January 25, 2025, at the Renasant Convention Center. The Memphis School Fair is focused on empowering families by showcasing a diverse range of educational choices available in the region. With over 20 educational options from public charter schools to independent institutions, the fair aims to guide parents and students through the school selection process, particularly during National School Choice Week, which runs from January 26 to February 1.

The fair provides a unique opportunity for more than 300 attendees to connect with school representatives and explore various community resources. Key organizations, including the Memphis Child Advocacy Center, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Memphis Botanic Garden, will be present to offer additional support and information.

From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, families can engage in a vibrant atmosphere filled with interactive activities. To complement the educational focus, the fair will offer free food, face painting, and balloon artistry—ensuring that both parents and children have a memorable experience while learning about educational opportunities that cater to their needs.

Kara Owen, a consultant with the AFC Growth Fund-Tennessee, highlights the event's significance, stating, "The Memphis School Fair is a valuable opportunity for parents and caregivers to discover how school choice can empower them to find the best fit for their children. School choice is about creating opportunities for every child to succeed, and this fair celebrates the freedom to choose the educational path that meets each child's unique needs."

This year marks the 15th anniversary of National School Choice Week, which engages families and communities through various activities aimed at promoting and celebrating educational choices. The mission of the American Federation for Children Growth Fund is to advocate for school choice policies and initiatives, ensuring families have the ability to select ideal educational environments for their children.

In addition, the Beacon Center of Tennessee plays a crucial role, helping residents reclaim and protect their freedoms as they pursue their own version of the American Dream.

The Renasant Convention Center will host the event in rooms RF1-RF5 Riverfront, located at 255 N. Main St., Memphis, TN 38103. For those interested in attending or requiring more information, they can visit MemphisSchoolFair.com to RSVP.

The National School Choice Awareness Foundation (NSCAF) is committed to raising awareness regarding school choice through various initiatives, including Navigate School Choice and Conoce tus Opciones Escolares. The NSCAF remains a nonpartisan organization that neither advocates for nor opposes specific legislation.

This significant event not only connects families with educational resources but also emphasizes the importance of informed decision-making in selecting the right school for every child. With a supportive community and enriching experiences, the Memphis School Fair is poised to make a lasting impact on attendees' education journey.
