BEYOND STADIUM 2025: Para Sports Square
Excitement is building as Tokyo prepares to host two major events in 2025: the World Athletics Championships and the Deaflympics. In light of this growing sports enthusiasm, Tokyo is launching an inclusive event themed "Let's Buddy Up with Para Sports!" aimed at children and families, offering a fun experience to explore the charm of para sports. This year's event, entitled
BEYOND STADIUM 2025, will feature an exciting Boccia tournament, the
BOCCIA BEYOND CUP, where teams are invited to join. Everyone is encouraged to participate!

Event Schedule
November 1 (Saturday)
- - Boccia Fun Day: An entire day dedicated to enjoying Boccia.
- - BOCCIA BEYOND CUP Qualifiers: Teams will compete in preliminary matches.
November 2 (Sunday)
- - Para Sports Experience Day: Experience various para sports.
- - BOCCIA BEYOND CUP Finals: The top teams will compete in the final tournament and exhibition matches.
Participation Details
- - Entry Fee: Free
- - Ambassadors: Notable actors and para-sports advocates, including Fuku Suzuki, an accomplished young actor, and Tomoka Igari, a talented individual using a wheelchair due to a lower body injury, will serve as ambassadors. They will help promote Para Sports through various stage contents and activities.
- - Boccia Supporter: Tim's Red Yoshida, famed for his love of Boccia and involvement in previous events, will lend his support throughout the event.
BOCCIA BEYOND CUP Team Registration
Teams are being recruited for the BOCCIA BEYOND CUP:
- - Number of Teams: 80 teams (drawing lots in case of oversubscription)
- - Eligibility: Open to anyone (no restrictions on age or ability)
- Teams must consist of 3 to 6 members, with at least half being residents, students, or workers in Tokyo.
- - Application Process: Sign up through the TEAM BEYOND official website in the event's special page.
- - Application Period: From August 6, 2025, to September 17, 2025, at 5 PM.
- - Tournament Format: All matches will use a 2 end system; preliminary matches will occur on the first day, leading to finals on the second day. The finals will be held in the main arena, while other matches will be on mini-courts.
Important Notes:
Due to venue considerations, certain guidelines and setup specifics will apply, such as no locker rooms for players and designated warm-up areas. Please refer to the
”BOCCIA BEYOND CUP Event Guidelines” for detailed information.
TEAM BEYOND Project
The BEYOND STADIUM event is part of Tokyo's ongoing
TEAM BEYOND project promoting para sports. This initiative brings together players, spectators, and supporters to enhance para sports visibility. The program will see various activities throughout the year, including viewing parties for the 2025 Deaflympics and more.
