High School Dancers Shine at the 2026 Kyushu Qualifying Round



The passion and dedication of high school dancers were on full display at the recent Kyushu qualifying round of the MyNavi High School Dance Competition 2026, held on January 12 at Fukuoka Civic Hall. Organized by Anomaly Inc., based in Shibuya, Tokyo, this competition aims to crown the top high school dance team in Japan, bringing together talented students who dedicate their youth to the art of dance.

In this exhilarating event, two schools emerged as the winners and will showcase their dazzling performances in the finals scheduled for April 18, 2026.

SMALL Category Winner: Nagasaki Women's Commercial High School - BLAST



The excitement was palpable for the team from Nagasaki, who expressed their joy after clinching the top spot in the SMALL category. One team member shared, "We have worked so hard aiming for this goal, and it feels amazing to have achieved it. A heartfelt thank you to our teachers, coaches, and all the parents who supported us."

LARGE Category Winner: Kitakyushu City High School - Lil Garnet's



Likewise, the Lil Garnet's team from Kitakyushu faced their own challenges, especially as this was their first competition with a new team structure. "There were many moments filled with uncertainty, but we are thrilled to repay the support from our coach Ogata and the others who believed in us," the captain reflected.

In the SMALL category, the following schools also earned recognition:
  • - 2nd Place (4,000 points): Kitakyushu City High School - N9SD CREW
  • - 3rd Place (3,000 points): Fukuoka Institute of Technology Joto High School - Jyoto Bless
  • - 4th Place (2,000 points): Seika Girls High School - Queen★Bee
  • - 5th Place (1,000 points): Fukuoka Prefectural Ariake Shinsei High School - Rosé Nova
  • - 6th Place (500 points): Higashi Fukuoka High School - Legacy

In the LARGE category, the following teams also received awards:
  • - 2nd Place (4,000 points): Fukuoka Prefectural Fukuoka Korin High School - FKD
  • - 3rd Place (3,000 points): Chikujo Women's Gakuen High School - apiece

Several special awards were also presented, recognizing all teams with a score of 300 points.

As the competition season unfolds, many schools across Japan eagerly anticipate their turn to compete. Following the Kyushu event, the next qualifiers include:

  • - January 31, 2026: East vol.2 (Day 2) & Chubu
  • - February 11, 2026: East vol.3 (Day 1)

  • - February 22, 2026: West vol.3 SMALL
  • - February 23, 2026: West vol.3 LARGE
  • - April 18, 2026: Finals

Initiated in 2015, the MyNavi High School Dance Competition has grown significantly and now includes contestants from various regions across Japan. This year's finals will feature teams advancing based on their performances in the qualifying rounds, now with expanded slots for successful entrants.
