Fostering a space for artistic innovation, the Tamari-ba’s design encourages high-level artistic performance and appreciation. Not only can artworks be displayed on the stairs but also on the walls or through a built-in projector. Hosting gallery talks with seating arranged on the steps enhances the interactive experience for visitors.

A Distinctive Space for Art

Opened in 2024, the space covers approximately 30 square meters and is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Shibuya Station. Apart from art exhibitions, this versatile venue accommodates seminars and serves as a relaxing spot for local office workers.

The structure of Tamari-ba diverges from traditional flat exhibition spaces, offering a three-dimensional experience. The stair-like arrangement enhances the relationship between visitors and the artworks, enriching their interaction.

Moreover, careful attention has been given to natural lighting and lighting design, ensuring artworks are showcased in the best possible manner.
