Pratt & Whitney Canada Expands Manufacturing in Morocco

Pratt & Whitney Canada has officially inaugurated its new manufacturing facility located in the Midparc Industrial Zone of Nouaceur, Casablanca. This strategic expansion, which aligns with Pratt & Whitney's global growth objectives, is set to create approximately 200 new jobs by 2030 and significantly enhance the production capacity necessary to meet the increasing demand for reliable aircraft engines.

The new facility spans an impressive 130,000 square feet and focuses on producing intricate static and structural machined components specifically designed for Pratt & Whitney Canada's esteemed aircraft engines, notably the PT6 engine family. This move is not just a step towards boosting production but also an indicator of Pratt & Whitney's strategic commitment to developing resilient global supply chains.

Maria Della Posta, the president of Pratt & Whitney Canada, expressed optimism during the inauguration, stating, "This site is a strategic extension of our global production network and demonstrates our commitment to building resilient supply chains worldwide that will enable us to increase production for our customers." Since the ground-breaking ceremony took place in 2024, the construction of the Morocco facility has progressed swiftly, transitioning from construction stages to operational readiness. This included a comprehensive approach to workforce recruitment, coupled with rigorous technical training and the installation of cutting-edge machining technologies. The facility is designed under lean manufacturing principles, integrating advanced digital systems that promote quality, operational excellence, and efficiency.

In parallel with Pratt & Whitney Canada, Collins Aerospace, a sister company within the RTX family, has been manufacturing cockpit solutions and flight controls in Morocco since 2012. Collectively, these operations have led to an employment figure of approximately 250 skilled workers in the region.
