Unveiling 'COMPLEX': A Unique Exhibition at YUGEN Gallery Fukuoka
YUGEN Gallery Fukuoka is set to host an extraordinary group exhibition titled "COMPLEX" commencing on June 12, 2025. This event, curated by the Fukuoka-based gallery "other", will showcase the intriguing works of five artists from the Seoul-based art collective C.P.S (Complex Seoul). These talented creators – 275C, Kim Dong-ho, Lee Dong-hoon, Joo Jaebum, and Seol Dongju – will explore diverse themes through various media in an attempt to interpret and visualize the complexities of modern life.
The term "COMPLEX" signifies the intricate emotions and sentiments that individuals often grapple with. In this exhibition, each artist presents their unique perspective on everyday scenes and events. Through painting, sculpture, graphic art, and video installations, they delve into the notion of inferiority complexes that are commonplace in today’s society. The artworks will invite viewers to engage with the themes on a sensory level, encouraging them to reflect on their personal experiences.
To enhance the experience further, each day during the exhibition, three popular Fukuoka cafes will set up shop in the gallery, providing a special opportunity to savor unique coffee offerings alongside the artistic ambiance. This collaboration between art and gastronomy promises to create a relaxing and immersive atmosphere for visitors.
