TransCode Therapeutics Announces Major Leadership Changes and Transitions
TransCode Therapeutics Announces Leadership Transition
TransCode Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: RNAZ), a pioneering clinical-stage company focused on immuno-oncology and RNA-based treatments, has recently announced an important change in its leadership.
On September 10, 2026, the company revealed the retirement of its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Tom Fitzgerald, who has been at the helm since July 2018. Under Fitzgerald’s financial guidance, TransCode advanced through pivotal milestones, including its initial public offering and the launch of its lead therapeutic candidate, TTX-MC138. Indeed, Fitzgerald's efforts have been instrumental in steering the company towards acquiring Polynoma and securing a licensing deal with Oncolytics, thereby expanding its innovative oncology product pipeline.
In a statement, Philippe P. Calais, Ph.D., Chairman of the Board and CEO, expressed gratitude for Fitzgerald's years of dedication. He highlighted Fitzgerald's unwavering commitment, stating, "From our beginnings as a small discovery-focused entity with ambitious goals, Tom has tirelessly worked to secure our funds and ensure our trajectory towards providing impactful therapies for cancer patients. We wish him a happy retirement, well deserved after years of service."
Effective immediately, in light of Fitzgerald's resignation from both his CFO role and the company's board of directors, John Tattory has been appointed as the Interim CFO. Tattory brings over 25 years of robust experience in financial management, with an extensive history leading both U.S. and international financial operations within the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. His career includes roles as Finance Director at notable organizations like Bristol-Myers Squibb and Tyco International, along with serving as CFO for Cerapedics, Inc. and Windtree Therapeutics, Inc. Currently, he manages consulting CFO services at Stout Risius Ross, LLC, specializing in private life science firms. His wide-ranging expertise spans areas including capital raising and investor relations, financial planning, analysis, and public financial reporting.
