Manischewitz Launches Athletic Honors Society to Celebrate Jewish College Athletes

Manischewitz® Introduces Athletic Honors Society

For over 135 years, Manischewitz® has been a significant part of Jewish tradition, food, and culture, becoming a household name synonymous with quality. In a bold new move, the iconic brand is expanding its reach into the realm of college athletics to honor Jewish athletes who excel in their respective sports.

A New Chapter in Athletic Achievement

The Athletic Honors Society is a national competition aimed at celebrating the hard work, talent, and indomitable spirit of Jewish college athletes across the United States. This initiative is not merely a contest; it's a shining recognition of Jewish excellence in sports and a testament to the determination and pride of these athletes.

From December 2025 through January 2026, athletes and supporters will have the opportunity to submit nominations and encourage community votes online. This initiative will not only spotlight standout athletes but is designed to foster engagement among fans, athletes, and the extended Jewish community nationwide.

As part of this initiative, America will vote to determine the Best Jewish College Athlete, with winners announced for both men's and women's categories. Winners will be celebrated with a $10,000 cash prize, recognition on a limited-edition box of Manischewitz Matzo, and an honorary mention from the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame. This competition promises nationwide media coverage, ensuring the achievements of these athletes receive the spotlight they deserve.

Recognizing Diversity and Influence

According to Shani Seidman, CMO of Manischewitz, "Jewish athletes embody a unique blend of talent, culture, and influence. This campaign not only highlights their on-field achievements but also recognizes their roles as cultural representatives on college campuses across the country. It's vital that we uplift these athletes and celebrate the diverse tapestry of modern Jewish identity."

For years, Jewish college athletes have broken stereotypes and excelled in various NCAA sports, often becoming prominent figures representing Jewish culture in their respective institutions. Manischewitz aims to honor this group through a thoughtful and inclusive campaign that acknowledges their contributions and achievements.

Eitan Levine, co-founder of Tribe NIL, comments, "Jewish athletes often serve as the most visible representatives of Jewish culture on their campuses, wearing their heritage on their jerseys. It’s truly exciting that Manischewitz is highlighting their accomplishments in this way."

During the campaign's duration, a robust social media and digital outreach will be deployed to strengthen community engagement and drive enthusiasm around this initiative.

Looking Forward

In March 2026, Manischewitz plans to unveil the winners of both the Men's and Women's categories, reveal the limited-edition matzo box design featuring the champions, and partake in a ceremonial honor alongside the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame. To bring the campaign to life, Manischewitz will produce a range of video and storytelling assets including nominee introductions, finalist stories, training showcases, and personal reflections on Jewish identity.
