Main Features of the DJI Zenmuse L3
The DJI Zenmuse L3 is compatible with the Matrice 400 and boasts an advanced laser module that significantly enhances precision compared to its predecessor released approximately two years ago. Some key upgrades include:
- - High Scanning Capability: The Zenmuse L3 can achieve a maximum lidar point density of 2 million points per second, with up to 16 returns per laser pulse. The beam diameter has also been optimized to produce a more compact circular shape.
- - Extended Range: The laser can reach up to 950m at a 10% reflectivity and 100k lux lighting, facilitating reliable data collection in expansive environments, including open-pit mining operations, with stable scanning data achieved up to 850 meters.
- - Efficient Data Modes: It features three modes of operation: repetitive mode (H80°, V3°), non-repetitive mode (H80°, V80°), and cross-mode (H80°, V80°), enabling effective data acquisition tailored to specific project requirements.
Enhanced Software Features
Alongside hardware improvements, the pilot app has undergone a comprehensive update, providing functionalities like real-time point cloud confirmation based on your flight plans. The app allows:
- - Previewing point cloud density and quality
- - Checking point clouds while in flight
- - Reviewing post-flight report data
Additionally, users will have access to DJI Terra for free, aiding in data processing for the Zenmuse L3.
The intelligent 3D model editing software DJI Modify will also facilitate automatic classification, cross-section analysis, and filtering of point clouds, bringing efficiency to data handling.
