IEHP's Musical Mission Conference: Composing Tomorrow Together
On May 1, 2026, the Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) hosted its sixth annual Mission Conference in Rancho Cucamonga, California, uniting over 200 healthcare executives and leaders to explore the spiritual and unifying power of music. This year’s theme, "Composing Tomorrow Together," beautifully encapsulated the essence of collaboration that was at the heart of the event.
The conference kicked off with a captivating immersion led by The Music Paradigm, an innovative orchestral learning experience. Attendees were treated to a performance where they could observe trained musicians in action. This unique setting illustrated a profound point: like an orchestra, the success of the healthcare community depends on how well professionals collaborate and support each other. As Edgar Winter once said, "Music is very spiritual, it has the power to bring people together," and this was evident throughout the day's events.
Jarrod McNaughton, IEHP's CEO, highlighted the importance of collective solutions in his opening remarks. He emphasized how the conference aimed to resist the natural tendency to retreat into silos and instead embrace the collaborative spirit that can lead to positive change. "Composing Tomorrow Together means creating a shared future in times of change," he noted, setting the tone for fruitful discussions and networking opportunities that followed.
In addition to the musical experience, the conference featured a thought-provoking roundtable discussion, co-sponsored by the IEHP Foundation. The topic, "Orchestrating a Healthy Future for the Inland Empire," brought to light various strategies and collaborative efforts necessary for fostering health and wellness within the rapidly growing region.
As the event progressed, IEHP took the opportunity to announce the 2026 Living the Mission Awards, celebrating organizations and individuals who have exemplified the spirit and mission of IEHP. Some of the awardees included:
-
Dr. Iheanacho Emeruwa: Awarded for Creativity and Innovation, he is a dedicated internist and obstetrician/gynecologist, recognized for his outstanding contributions to the community.
-
Michelle's Place: Awarded for Inspiration, this cancer resource center in Temecula offers vital support and education to patients and their families.

Dr. Hua Bai: A distinguished pediatrician from Chino Valley, also recognized with the Optimal Care Award for his decades of service to the community.
-
El Sol Neighborhood Educational Center: Honored with the Vibrant Health Award for its ongoing work in aiding vulnerable populations across San Bernardino County with various resources.
The day concluded with Sandy Wyman, IEHP's Vice President of Mission, expressing hope that attendees left with renewed inspiration to create the vital "music of life" in their communities. She remarked, "Offering inspiring experiences and programs enhances connections among our guests so they can fully engage with collaboration objectives, much like how an orchestra brings a composition to life."
Overall, IEHP's sixth Mission Conference served as a testament to the power of unity in the healthcare sector, showcasing that through music and collaboration, a healthier future is possible. For more details on the conference or to learn more about IEHP, visit
