Exploring Finetech's Advanced Capsule Filling Machine Unveiled at CPhI China 2026

Finetech's Fully Automatic Liquid Capsule Filling Machine Unveiled at CPhI China 2026

In a significant revelation at the CPhI & PMEC China 2026 exhibition held from June 16 to 18 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Finetech Pharmaceutical Equipment introduced its latest innovation: a fully automatic liquid capsule filling machine. This cutting-edge technology has drawn attention from pharmaceutical and nutraceutical manufacturers as well as equipment buyers attending the event.

Tackling Dosing Challenges

The primary challenge this state-of-the-art machine addresses is the need for consistent and reliable dosing of liquid and high-viscosity materials into hard capsules during mass production. Traditional semi-automatic equipment often fails to ensure uniform fill volumes across large batches, leading to product inconsistencies, regulatory non-compliance, and increased material waste. Finetech's liquid capsule filling machine is designed to overcome these limitations through a sophisticated peristaltic pump-based dosing system, guaranteeing filling volume accuracy within ±2% to ±3%.

Versatile and Efficient Performance

What sets this machine apart is its versatility. It's compatible with a diverse array of formulations—ranging from oily liquids and aqueous solutions to suspensions and pastes. Additionally, it supports four distinct filling configurations in a single platform, including liquid capsules, capsule-in-capsule, powder-in-capsule, and pellets-in-capsule.

The machine operates via a fully automated sequence, streamlining processes such as capsule feeding, vacuum separation, liquid filling, defect rejection, sealing, and discharge—eliminating the need for manual intervention during production. Impressively, the capsule feeding success rate exceeds 99%, and the in-line defect rejection rate remains below 0.2%, minimizing raw material losses.

High Output and Modular Design

Designed for high efficiency, the machine boasts an impressive output of 15,600 capsules per hour, significantly surpassing the capabilities of comparable semi-automated systems. Its modular turntable design allows for rapid changeover across various capsule sizes, accommodating both gelatin and HPMC vegetarian options. This feature makes the system particularly advantageous for manufacturers with multiple product lines or those involved in small-batch specialty formulations.

Advanced Sealing and Material Standards

The sealing integrity of the capsules is maintained through patented glue and heat-sealing technology, utilizing a dual sealing structure to prevent lubricant contamination and resist corrosive liquids, thus prolonging service life and safeguarding product stability during storage and transport.

All components in contact with materials are constructed from high-grade 316L or 304 stainless steel with mirror polishing, designed to endure high-temperature sterilization and routine sanitation. Furthermore, the machine adheres to GMP, FDA, and CE standards, ensuring it meets the regulatory requirements necessary for exporting products to stringent markets such as the United States and the European Union.

Advanced Features and User Controls

Control of the machine is facilitated through a PLC and a user-friendly touch-screen interface, featuring customizable parameters, automated fault diagnostics, output statistics, and adaptive adjustments for temperature and humidity. The design enables continuous operation for up to 24 hours.

Tony Tao, CEO of Finetech, emphasized the machine's goal: "The core problem we set out to solve was dosing reliability. For manufacturers working with liquid formulations—be it fish oil, vitamin E, or other substances—errors can lead to serious consequences, including product recalls. We aimed to deliver a machine that maintains an error range within ±3% across an entire production run."

He added that attention was given to the expectations of regulatory bodies in North America and Europe, stating, "Manufacturers in the U.S. are held to stringent standards regarding contamination control and batch tracking. Our machine's structure, materials, and in-line inspection capabilities are designed to support these requirements."

Beyond pharmaceutical applications, this machine caters to the health food and nutraceutical sectors, serving manufacturers producing items like plant extracts, probiotic capsules, and functional supplements. At the exhibition, Finetech also presented other machinery, including a semi-automatic liquid capsule machine and a blister packaging machine, showcasing their innovations in pharmaceutical processing technology.

The CPhI & PMEC China 2026 attracted over 3,500 exhibitors and more than 110,000 professionals from the pharmaceutical industry, making it a pivotal event for stakeholders involved in active pharmaceutical ingredients, manufacturing equipment, and packaging.
