Expansion of Lithium-Ion Battery Testing Facility Achieves ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation in Hokuto

Chemtox Expands and Certifies Hokuto LiB Testing Center

In February 2026, Chemtox Inc., headquartered in Ota City, Tokyo, announced that its Hokuto LiB Testing Center, located at 2966-8 Yanagizawa, Takakawa Town, Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, has officially received accreditation from A2LA (American Association for Laboratory Accreditation) under the ISO/IEC 17025 standard. This international standard pertains to the technical competence of laboratories and calibration institutions and signifies a robust quality management system.

Previously, Chemtox conducted various evaluation tests for lithium-ion batteries at the Yamanashi Testing Center KAI, located at 18349 Egusa, Suwa Town, Yamanashi Prefecture. In an effort to enhance its testing capabilities, Chemtox has relocated these facilities to the newly equipped Hokuto LiB Testing Center, which began operations in October 2025. The center underwent significant additions, allowing it to conduct an extensive range of tests for lithium-ion batteries, ensuring a comprehensive analysis of their safety, performance, and overall reliability.

With this ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, the Hokuto LiB Testing Center has solidified its status as a globally recognized facility capable of delivering various test and evaluation services for lithium-ion batteries. The accredited testing data provided by the center is widely accepted under the framework of international mutual recognition, allowing for enhanced credibility and trust in the results.

At the Hokuto LiB Testing Center, safety evaluations and performance testing of lithium-ion batteries are performed in accordance with the standards detailed in the A2LA’s published scope. For further details on the scope of accreditation, visitors can access the document through the A2LA’s directory here.
