Subaru Triumphs with Awards in the 2025 Best Cars for Teens
Subaru of America, Inc. has proudly announced the recognition of two of its models in the esteemed 2025 U.S. News & World Report's Best Cars for Teens list. The
2025 Subaru Forester has earned the title of
Best New SUV priced between $35,000 and $40,000, while the
2021 Subaru Legacy has won the award for
Best Used Midsize Car geared towards teenage drivers.
Jeff Walters, the President and COO of Subaru of America, expresses pride in this recognition, stating: "We are proud to have Forester and Legacy recognized by U.S. News & World Report as recommended cars for younger drivers. Value, reliability, and safety are fundamental to the SUVs and cars we offer to our customers, and we're proud to be recognized again by U.S. News & World Report."
To qualify as a
Best New Car for Teens, vehicles must demonstrate outstanding reliability ratings, excellent crash test scores, and come equipped with advanced driver assistance features. Moreover, they need to receive positive reviews from industry critics while fulfilling certain pricing criteria. On the other hand, winners of the
Best Used Car category are selected from models produced between 2020 and 2022, requiring exceptional reliability and safety ratings alongside affordable projected ownership costs.
Both the Subaru Forester and Legacy have achieved a perfect five-star Overall Vehicle Score from the
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), with the Forester designated as a
TOP SAFETY PICK by the
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). They feature the
Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, which incorporates Automatic Pre-Collision Braking, Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, and standard LED Steering Responsive Headlights.
To further promote safety, Subaru vehicles are equipped with innovative teen driver controls and optional smartphone features that alert parents if the vehicle exceeds predetermined speed limits, crosses geographic boundaries, or is driven beyond certain hours. This allows parents to set boundaries for their teen drivers while initiating important discussions on safe driving practices. Additional active safety features offered include Blind Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and the DriverFocus™ Distraction Mitigation System.
The
2025 Subaru Forester is available at Subaru retailers across the nation, starting at an MSRP of
$29,995.
