Celebrating Mentorship Through the BBBSA Alumni Hall of Fame



On June 16, 2025, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) held a remarkable ceremony in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during its National Conference. The event marked the induction of a new class into the prestigious BBBSA Alumni Hall of Fame, a tribute to those who have exemplified the transformative power and impact of mentorship.

BBBSA, a leading one-to-one youth mentoring organization in the United States, recognized former mentors and mentees, often referred to as 'Bigs' and 'Littles.' This year’s group of inductees showcased the diversity and strength of individuals from various professions, including educators, professional athletes, journalists, and community advocates, all of whom continue to inspire through their commitment to mentorship.

Over 2,000 attendees, both in-person and virtua, came together to pay homage to the latest inductees, while also celebrating the organization's 120-year legacy of empowering youth through personal connections. The event was emceed by renowned sports analyst and media personality Andraya Carter, alongside talented violinist Richmond Punch, who introduced the stories behind each inductee’s journey.

A Diverse Group of Changemakers


The 2025 Hall of Fame inductees included a dynamic blend of professionals dedicated to making a difference in their communities:
  • - Adam Schmalholz (IN-Q): A lauded professional spoken word artist and best-selling author, represents the creative reach of mentorship as a former Alumni Little.
  • - Carey Arensberg: An educator and trauma resilience specialist, also an influential social media advocate, proudly serves as an Alumni Big.
  • - Jeff Fetters: With years of leadership experience as the retired chairman, president, and CEO of Federated Insurance Companies, he exemplifies impactful mentorship as an Alumni Big.
  • - Ray Davis: A running back for the Buffalo Bills, Davis represents the spirit of determination and resilience from the perspective of an Alumni Little.
  • - Rodney McLeod Jr.: An impressive 13-year NFL veteran and Super Bowl LII champion, he co-founded the Change Our Future Foundation and serves as an inspiring Alumni Big.
  • - Tetiana Anderson: A host on Comcast Newsmakers and partner at Starfield Media, her journey from Alumni Little to advocate showcases the far-reaching effects of mentorship.
  • - Trymaine Lee: A Pulitzer Prize and Emmy-winning journalist, Lee is dedicated to using his platform as an Alumni Big to effect change and motivate others.

Artis Stevens, President and CEO of BBBSA, emphasized the significance of the induction ceremony, stating, “We are proud to recognize and celebrate the 2025 Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Alumni Hall of Fame inductees.
