As the semiconductor industry continues to thrive in Kumamoto, boosted by the entry of major players like TSMC, the region is experiencing a surge in related enterprises. By August 2025, Aso Kumamoto Airport has already seen the launch of six international routes, servicing
42 flights weekly, ranking it as the top regional airport for flight numbers. Projections indicate that the number of international travelers will reach an all-time high of approximately
480,000 in the fiscal year 2024.
