Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership Achieves Prestigious Economic Development Accreditation
Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership Secures Accreditation
In a groundbreaking achievement, the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership (NEI) has recently received accreditation from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), distinguishing it as one of only 89 organizations worldwide holding this esteemed recognition. This accolade speaks volumes about NEI's commitment to promoting economic growth and development in the region.
Nathan Ohle, the President and CEO of IEDC, praised NEI's efforts, stating that the organization exemplifies "professionalism, commitment, and technical expertise" that justify this honor. NEI made history by becoming the first regional economic development organization in Indiana to obtain such accreditation, further solidifying its role as a leader in economic advancement.
Stéphane Frijia, President and CEO of NEI, expressed pride in this achievement, noting that the accreditation validates NEI's evolution into a modern, high-performing economic development entity. Over the last four years, the organization has extended its influence and impact while adopting collaborative and data-driven strategies for development. Frijia remarked, "Being the first regional organization in Indiana to earn this recognition reflects our leadership, accountability, and commitment to regional prosperity."
The IEDC's accreditation is more than a simple honor—it's a verification process that assesses economic development organizations against established industry standards. The accreditation process consists of intensive phases including documentation reviews and onsite visits to examine the details surrounding the organization’s structure, funding, programs, and personnel.
The IEDC's accreditation report highlighted NEI’s Marketing Department as a pioneering model in economic development marketing. NEI’s efforts have been bolstered by Jonathan Sackett, Vice President of Marketing and Communication, who has leveraged his expertise in digital and video marketing to enhance the organization’s outreach. Sackett noted, "Our creative approach has allowed us to be very strategic with the way we promote our region, which was validated by over 5.5 million video views over the last year."
Earning the AEDO accreditation not only reflects the hard work of the NEI team but also assures prospective businesses and the community that the organization operates with excellence and integrity. This status provides confidence that business dealings with NEI are secure and productive, benefitting the region’s economy.
The AEDO status requires maintenance every three years, achieved through ongoing documentation submissions and potential reviews by the AEDO subcommittee. This continual evaluation ensures that NEI remains at the forefront of economic development practices.
The International Economic Development Council is a prominent association serving economic and community development professionals globally, boasting over 5,000 members. They provide vital resources for professional development and advocacy, cementing their role as a leading force within the profession. As NEI embarks on this exciting new chapter, it stands ready to lead Northeast Indiana into a prosperous future, continuing its commitment to sustainable growth and community enrichment.
