Maximizing the Potential of Foreign Care Workers: A Strategic Approach to Success in the Caregiver Certification Exam

Maximizing the Potential of Foreign Care Workers

In an increasingly globalized society, foreign caregivers play a crucial role in Japan's care industry, addressing the pressing issue of labor shortages. Human Life Care Corporation, headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, is set to host a free online seminar titled "Maximizing the Potential of Foreign Care Workers: A Strategic Approach to Success in the Caregiver Certification Exam" on July 16 and 29, 2025. This seminar aims to provide a comprehensive roadmap for caregivers to successfully pass the national certification exam, a critical step for securing long-term employment in Japan.

Key Highlights of the Seminar

The seminar will delve into the concept of 'strategic training' for foreign caregivers, focusing on practical techniques to enhance their capabilities in passing the caregiver certification exam. As nearly half of care facilities now employ foreign caregivers (46.3%), it is imperative to address the challenges these professionals face, including the low pass rate for the caregiver certification exam, which stands at only 33.3%, significantly lower than the overall pass rate of 78.3% for Japanese candidates.

Participants will learn how to create a conducive environment that supports both the educational needs of foreign caregivers and the operational demands of care facilities. With a blend of detailed explanations and real-life examples, the seminar will emphasize the importance of collaborative team environments in achieving successful exam results.

Challenges in the Field

Many care facilities struggle to balance the training of foreign staff with day-to-day operations. Effective solutions involve thoughtful planning to ensure that foreign caregivers can dedicate adequate study time without overwhelming the instructional staff. The seminar will address crucial areas such as the alleviation of training burdens on staff, enhancing the quality of educational content, and facilitating a supportive learning atmosphere.

The goal is to establish comprehensive systems that promote rigorous training while fostering a collaborative culture among all team members, ultimately leading to higher success rates in the national exam.

Learning Outcomes and Support

After the seminar, participants will have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session to clarify their doubts and further discuss strategies for effective training. Additionally, individual consultations will be available for those who wish to delve deeper into specific challenges faced by their facilities.

The Need for Strategic Development

Human Life Care Corporation has pioneered efforts in the caregiving sector since 1999, providing not only residential care services but also supporting the training and employment of foreign caregivers. Since 2019, the company has been approving skilled labor trainees and, in 2020, began providing support for registered skilled workers. Over 650 foreign caregivers have been trained and placed in various care facilities across the country, emphasizing Human Life Care's commitment to resolving the pervasive issue of labor shortages in the caregiving sector.

By actively welcoming foreign talent, the company aims to contribute to a sustainable care industry that meets the evolving needs of Japan’s aging population.

With 176 facilities nationwide as of July 2022, Human Life Care is working towards comprehensive care solutions, enhancing both individual well-being and community health as part of their commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
