Zenken Secures Support for Foreign Care Workers in Niigata Prefecture
Zenken Corporation, headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, is excited to announce that, on May 23, 2025, it has been awarded a contract by Niigata Prefecture to implement the support program for foreign care workers aiming to acquire the national certification for care workers for the fiscal year 2025.
This training initiative is part of a broader effort by the prefecture to create a conducive working environment for foreign care workers in Niigata. The program aims to support individuals employed under specific skills or training programs, allowing them to enhance their careers within the Japanese caregiving sector. Participants typically have a maximum residence period of five years; however, once they pass the national examination for care workers, they can obtain the 'Care' residency status, which enables them to continue working in Japan's caregiving field on a long-term basis.
To facilitate this, Zenken will conduct a six-month online training course designed specifically for foreign care workers in Niigata. The primary goal is to ensure that participants pass the national care worker examination in fiscal year 2025. Zenken has established a comprehensive preparatory course for the examination, covering 12 subjects across four key areas, tailored to the needs of foreign caregivers.
Each participant will be assigned a dedicated support coordinator, who will help identify individual weaknesses and provide personalized assistance to overcome them. This meticulous training structure is intended to maximize the chances of each participant successfully passing the examination.
In addition, Zenken previously contracted with Niigata Prefecture in November of last year to conduct training programs aimed at supporting the retention of foreign care workers, with sessions held in January and February of 2025. Moving forward, Zenken remains committed to cooperating with local governments to ensure that foreign care workers are welcomed as integral members of the community, fostering an environment where they can thrive and contribute meaningfully for the long term.
