Exhibition Reflects on the 80th Anniversary of World War II's End

Minato City History Museum Summer Exhibition

The Minato City History Museum is hosting a special exhibition this summer to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Minato City Peace Declaration and the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. This significant exhibition will run from Saturday, July 5th to Tuesday, September 30th, 2024.

As this year marks a pivotal 80 years since the end of the Asia-Pacific War, many in the community are now part of generations who have never experienced war first-hand. The painful memories of loss, resilience and survival during wartime can only be conveyed through accounts passed down and the historical documents that remain. This exhibition aims to delve into the everyday lives during wartime, the post-war recovery efforts, and the lasting significance of peace.
