The Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) is taking a significant step towards enhancing career opportunities for students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) by announcing a new partnership with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF). This collaboration is set to launch the Ruth Mullen Memorial Scholarship Program, effectively starting in the 2025-2026 academic year.

The scholarship is named after Ruth Mullen, a cherished member of the EFA who dedicated her life to advancing civil rights. Ruth was an influential figure within the association and tragically passed away in September 2021 while serving as a co-executive. Financial Support for Future Leaders

The Ruth Mullen Memorial Scholarship will offer financial assistance of up to $5,000 to eligible students or recent graduates from HBCUs who are pursuing careers or further education in the editorial field.
