Urgent Safety Warning: Stop Using Dangerous Omzer Infant Swings Immediately
Urgent CPSC Warning on Omzer Infant Swings
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has urgently alerted parents regarding Omzer infant swings, strongly advising them to stop using these products immediately. This warning arises from grave safety concerns related to potential suffocation risks and various federal safety violations associated with these swings.
Risks Identified
The CPSC has identified that these infant swings are marketed for sleep, but they have an incline angle exceeding the safer limit of 10 degrees set by the Safe Sleep for Babies Act. Such an inclination creates a suffocation hazard, placing infants at unacceptable risk while sleeping. Additionally, the swings do not meet the necessary warning requirements mandated for infants' swing products, further compromising safety.
Moreover, the remote controls for these swings incorporate lithium coin batteries, which present another significant danger. Under Reese's Law, products with such batteries must feature appropriate safety warnings to prevent accidental ingestion by children, as these batteries can cause severe internal injuries and even lead to death if swallowed.
Background of the Recall
The CPSC has served a formal Notice of Violation to the seller, Guangzhou Qidian Information Technology Co. Ltd., which operates as Omzerus. Despite these findings, Omzerus has yet to agree to a voluntary recall or provide any remedy for consumers, raising concerns about the company's commitment to infant safety.
Reportedly, around 1,075 units of these swings were sold online through Amazon.com from March 2024 to March 2025, with prices ranging between $64 and $200. The swings bear the descriptions
