PowerX Commences Installation of EV Charging Systems for Porsche
In a significant advancement for electric vehicle infrastructure, PowerX Co., Ltd., headquartered in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture, has commenced the supply of its battery-based ultra-fast EV charging system, known as the Hypercharger, to authorized Porsche dealerships. This milestone marks an essential step towards establishing a more efficient charging network for EV users in Japan.
The first installation took place at the Porsche Center Nagoya Certified Used Car Center, located in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture. This location is a part of the official dealer network managed by PCN Co., Ltd., overseen by President Hirotaka Teranishi. The center not only sells Porsche certified pre-owned vehicles but also provides maintenance services, making it a crucial hub for Porsche enthusiasts.
The Hypercharger system installed at this location is capable of a maximum output of 150 kW, allowing for super-fast charging of two vehicles simultaneously, thanks to its dual outlet configuration. This service is exclusively available for members of the Premium Charging Alliance (PCA), which caters to owners of electric vehicles from Porsche, Audi, and Volkswagen. Operating 24/7, the Hypercharger aims to provide unparalleled convenience for its users, ensuring that they can charge their vehicles at any time.
In addition to the cutting-edge charging stations, a dedicated charging lounge has been set up for users to relax while waiting for their vehicles to charge. This lounge is also operational 24/7 and requires prior registration for access, presenting a comfortable environment for patrons.
The Hypercharger has received endorsement from Porsche Japan, confirming its status as a recommended charging solution for the brand. Following this initial deployment, plans are in place to expand the use of Hyperchargers to additional locations, including the Porsche Center Utsunomiya, operated by Eurogrants in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture.
PowerX’s commitment to enhancing the electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Japan is fortified through partnerships with automotive brands pushing for electrification strategies. Their innovative approach not only meets current consumer demands but also prepares for future growth in the EV sector, promoting sustainability and convenience for all users.
