Gotion Leads the Launch of a Sustainable Electric Logistics Corridor in Europe and Africa

Gotion Initiates a Revolutionary Electric Logistics Corridor

On April 7, 2026, Gotion, in collaboration with Green Power Morocco (GPM) and Chery Heavy Trucks, announced the signing of a pivotal agreement to establish a corridor designed for heavy electric logistics. This corridor aims to facilitate intercontinental cargo transportation while prioritizing lower emissions, offering a sustainable future for logistics between Morocco and France.

A Strategic Route

The newly proposed corridor spans approximately 2,000 kilometers, connecting Agadir in southern Morocco through the Tangier port to Perpignan in southern France. Currently, this route accommodates around 2,000 heavy trucks daily. The key objective of this partnership is to gradually integrate electric heavy-duty trucks along this vital trade route, significantly reducing emissions and enhancing environmental efficiency.

Partnership Framework

As part of this initiative, Gotion and GPM plan to establish a joint venture to manage the electric vehicle fleets, battery exchange stations, intelligent dispatching, and energy storage solutions. Initially, 100 heavy electric trucks equipped with Gotion's battery systems will be deployed, with further expansions contingent on performance and infrastructure readiness. Chery Heavy Trucks' proficiency in the construction and manufacturing of utility vehicles will play a crucial role in this collaborative effort.

Innovations in Battery Technology

One of the distinguishing features of this project is the innovative battery exchange solution being developed, aimed at minimizing downtime and enhancing operational efficiency for heavy-duty electric trucks. This encompasses efforts towards standardizing battery systems and managing their life cycles effectively, ensuring streamlined operations across various logistics operations.

Lower Emission Corridors

This ambitious project uniquely combines electrification, energy infrastructure, and digital logistics to create a scalable model for reducing carbon emissions in freight transport. Although there are no claims of carbon neutrality at this stage, the environmental performance will require validated data and certification in future assessments.

Phil Jenkins, CEO of GPM Holding, remarked, "This collaboration merges Gotion's battery technology with Chery's manufacturing capabilities, aiming to tailor electric logistics solutions to regional needs. Morocco's logistics sector possesses significant long-term potential."

Li Zhen, Chairman of Gotion High-Tech, added, "This marks a vital step towards expanding the utilization scenarios for our battery technologies, supporting practical and scalable solutions for lower-emission freight transportation."

As the global economy shifts towards sustainability, this electric logistics corridor represents a groundbreaking approach to enhance the efficiency of cross-border freight transport, ushering in a new era of logistics with reduced environmental impact.
