MILBON BEAUTY PROGRAM Set to Shine at SSFF & ASIA 2025 in Omotesando

The Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA) 2025 is thrilled to announce its collaboration with MILBON for the much-anticipated MILBON BEAUTY PROGRAM, taking place on May 31st, Saturday, at Omotesando Hills. This exciting event, titled "Opening the Door to Beauty," promises a delightful experience through the screening of three carefully selected short films that encapsulate the essence of beauty. Following the screenings, acclaimed director Shinichiro Ueda will grace the stage for a talk centered on the themes of the films and the richness of the human spirit that beauty can cultivate.

SSFF & ASIA, recognized as one of the largest international short film festivals in Asia and certified by the Academy Awards, will feature these selected works as part of its ongoing commitment to showcase creative storytelling. The event is set to begin at 15:40 and will continue until 17:30, with doors opening at 15:30. Admission is free, but registration is required.

The short films to be screened are:

1. "Blackmoll" (クロネズミ)
- Director: Alessia Mandanici

- Synopsis: A seven-year-old girl named Carla strives to understand the mysterious world of her grandmother, who is suffering from dementia.

2. "MY DEAR" (マイディア)
- Directors: Sohee Kim & Dohee Jeon

- Duration: 23 minutes
- Synopsis: Set in 2027, a 25-year-old deaf woman named Ga-eul grapples with the decision to partake in her graduation project while discovering AI app "MYDEAR" that connects her to someone who seems to be her age.

3. "BELIEF" (信じる心)
- Director: Christian Loubek
- Country: USA
- Genre: Drama
- Duration: 13 minutes
- Synopsis: Lennox discovers a letter among the possessions of his late mother, indicating that his fate had been determined for a life entirely different from the one he knows.

Shinichiro Ueda, known for his unique storytelling capabilities, will provide insights into the works showcased and engage in discussions about how beauty can enhance our emotional well-being. Ueda has gained recognition for his films, especially the hit "One Cut of the Dead", along with several other projects that have garnered awards both locally and internationally.

This partnership between SSFF & ASIA and MILBON began in 2022 with the launch of the "MILBON BEAUTY MOVIES" project. This initiative aims to distribute heartwarming short films themed around beauty, enriching the viewers’ minds and hearts.
