Rebel Fuels Strengthens Leadership Team for Carbon-Neutral Sustainability Initiatives

Rebel Fuels Expands Leadership Team for Carbon-Neutral Fuel Development

Rebel Fuels Inc., a pioneering company based in Delaware, is on a mission to transform waste carbon dioxide (CO₂) into sustainable fuels. In a significant move to enhance its expertise in carbon transformation technology, Rebel Fuels has announced the appointment of two key industry veterans to its leadership team: Dr. Kendra P. Kuhl and Nicholas Dreves.

Strategic Appointments

Dr. Kendra P. Kuhl

Dr. Kuhl brings more than two decades of groundbreaking experience in CO₂ electrochemistry to the Rebel Fuels Advisory Board. As the co-founder and former Chief Technology Officer of Twelve, she developed cutting-edge technology that converts captured CO₂ into sustainable products, including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and various chemicals typically derived from fossil fuels. Her innovative contributions have garnered recognition, including being named a top Innovator Under 35 by MIT Technology Review and honored as a Climate Change Visionary by The New York Times.

Her extensive knowledge will undoubtedly play a critical role in advancing Rebel Fuels' initiatives to convert waste CO₂ into usable forms of fuel. In a statement, Toby Tiktinsky, CEO of Rebel Fuels, emphasized the importance of Dr. Kuhl's expertise in carbon transformation technology, which aligns seamlessly with the company's goal of fostering a circular carbon economy.

Nicholas Dreves

Alongside Dr. Kuhl, Nicholas Dreves has been appointed as the Head of Carbon at Rebel Fuels. With a robust background in the energy sector, having worked at notable organizations such as ICF, UNDP, and EcoSecurities, Dreves is well-equipped to lead initiatives on carbon intensity assessment and life cycle analysis.

His experience spans several areas including sustainability, energy efficiency, and low-carbon solutions, making him a valuable asset to the company as it looks to enhance its partnerships with ethanol facilities. Tiktinsky mentioned that Dreves' expertise in validating carbon initiatives will significantly contribute toward monetizing the carbon value of Rebel Fuels' projects.

Accelerating Carbon-Neutral Initiatives

Together, Dr. Kuhl and Dreves will strengthen Rebel Fuels' existing team, which already includes key Advisory Board members Jon Harman and Barbara Toole O'Neil, both of whom joined during the company’s launch in January 2025. Their collective expertise will accelerate efforts to capture biogenic CO₂ from various sources such as ethanol distilleries and wastewater treatment plants and convert it into carbon-neutral fuels.

Rebel Fuels' innovative approach aims to address some of the most significant challenges in the decarbonization of the fuel supply chain. By successfully integrating biogenic CO₂ capture with advanced carbon recycling technology, the company is setting the stage for a future where sustainable fuels are not just a possibility but a tangible reality.
