Pollo Campero Opens New Restaurant in New York's Penn Station, Expanding Its Reach

Pollo Campero Expands in New York at Penn Station

In a significant move, Pollo Campero has opened its 122nd restaurant in the United States, strategically located in the bustling Penn Station of New York City. This opening marks a notable moment in the chain’s expansion journey in the American market, following its historic 100th restaurant launch in Miami, Florida. The year 2024 ended with over 120 locations, and this new establishment represents a step forward in Pollo Campero's commitment to bringing its distinct flavor and culinary heritage to a wider audience.

Innovative Dining Experience

Inaugurated on February 20, 2025, the new restaurant aims to cater to the high foot traffic of passengers using the Long Island Railroad (LIRR). The innovative design integrates state-of-the-art technology to enhance customer experiences, featuring mobile order delivery lockers, self-service kiosks, and a chic contemporary decor that reflects the vibrant spirit of New York City.

Notably, this location also introduces a unique dining experience, with a menu that celebrates traditional Guatemalan flavors. Patrons can indulge in items like crispy fried chicken, grilled chicken sandwiches, empanadas, salads, and unique sides such as sweet plantains and fried yuca. The restaurant offers both individual meals and family-sized options, catering to diverse dining preferences.

To celebrate the grand opening, Pollo Campero invited the first 100 customers to join a raffle for the chance to win a 'Golden Ticket,' providing them with free meals for a year—a gesture affirming the brand's gratitude toward its customers.

A Commitment to Growth

José Gregorio Baquero, the Global CEO of CMI Alimentos, expressed enthusiasm about this expansion: “Every achievement in our growth strategy allows us to uphold and expand the family legacy initiated by our founder, Don Juan Bautista Gutiérrez. The development of Pollo Campero in the U.S. demonstrates our commitment to create life-changing opportunities while delivering exceptional flavors and experiences to families worldwide, and what better place to do this than in the iconic Penn Station.”

Luis Javier Rodas, Managing Director of Campero USA, shared his excitement, stating, “This is an exciting moment for Pollo Campero. We continue to grow and bring the flavor of Pollo Campero closer to thousands of loyal customers who desire our brand. This new restaurant allows us to keep sharing our passion for our unique flavors while we maintain our expansion momentum in the U.S.”

Projecting ahead, Pollo Campero aims to increase its U.S. footprint to 250 locations by 2027, a goal that aligns with its broader vision to become a prominent culinary staple in North America.
