Milabo Launches Digital Vaccination Pre-examination Ticket Service in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture

Milabo to Introduce Digital Vaccination App in Utsunomiya City

Milabo Inc., headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has announced a trial run of its digital vaccination pre-examination ticket service, 'mila-e Vaccination,' in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture. The service is aimed at streamlining the vaccination process for infants by offering a more convenient and accessible method of consultation and record-keeping. Starting September 2025, the service will be implemented at two healthcare facilities in the city, focusing on administering vaccines including rotavirus, hepatitis B, pneumococcal, and the five-in-one combination vaccine.

Background of the 'mila-e Vaccination' Initiative

This initiative aligns with the national government’s push towards the digitalization of vaccination procedures, allowing for a more efficient vaccination system accessible to all demographics, including the elderly. In February 2025, Milabo entered into a partnership with Utsunomiya City, aiming to develop an easy-to-use vaccination app that adheres to these guidelines. The trial will specifically target routine vaccinations for children, classified under Category A infectious diseases.

Following the initial trial with child vaccinations, there are plans to expand the service to include routine vaccinations for the elderly, targeting pneumococcal and shingles vaccines, projected to begin in February 2026.

The trial aims to enhance the user experience by collecting feedback from both users and healthcare facilities. This feedback loop will help optimize the digital pre-examination tickets for the future roll-out for elderly vaccinations.

Features of the 'mila-e Vaccination' Service

The 'mila-e Vaccination' system offers users the convenience of filling out pre-examination tickets at their own pace via their smartphones at any time and from any location. On the day of the vaccination, individuals can simply scan a QR code at the healthcare facility's reception, making the submission process swift and hassle-free. In cases where multiple vaccinations are required simultaneously, shared information will automatically populate, reducing repetitive data entry.

Healthcare providers and local authorities will benefit as they can access vaccination records online at any time, simplifying overall management, including record verification, data aggregation, and billing processes.
