This year, attention is drawn to the survivors who are starting anew at The Table, a unique empowerment center established by the 3Strands Global Foundation (3SGF) in downtown Sacramento. The center serves as a beacon of hope, offering vital resources to individuals rebuilding their lives after experiencing human trafficking.

The Table is not just a refuge; it has become a transformative space where over 658 survivors have accessed critical support services since its inception in 2023. From clinical care to educational opportunities, The Table caters to the comprehensive needs of survivors, highlighting a holistic approach to recovery. In just three years, the facility has facilitated over 11,732 services, fostering a community not only focused on healing but thriving.

Survivor Voices Matter

The Survivor Advisory Board (SAB), comprised of those who have lived through the challenges of trafficking, has played a pivotal role in shaping the programs at 3SGF. Founded to ensure that survivor perspectives are integral to the organization's operations, the SAB has contributed significant consulting hours, enhancing the quality and safety of the services provided. As Ashlie Bryant, CEO of 3Strands Global Foundation, notes, “Restoration occurs when there is safety. The SAB's involvement has helped maintain an environment where transformation and healing can flourish.”

New offerings include survivor-led support groups and clinical therapy sessions, both designed to deepen the level of care provided.

The survivor-led support groups allow participants to process shared experiences, creating a peer-supported environment that fosters collective healing. These groups have been described by participants as powerful and restorative. In addition, the clinical therapy program connects survivors with licensed therapists, providing personalized and trauma-informed care. This allows attendees to engage in therapy sessions remotely, making mental health resources accessible from anywhere.

Building a Future Together

In tandem with The Table's survivor support initiatives, the foundation's PROTECT program works to prevent such trafficking incidents before they occur. Together, these efforts embody 3SGF's dual mission of prevention and empowerment.

However, the demand for services at The Table continues to grow. Currently, 85 survivors find themselves on the waitlist for Employ + Empower, a vital program aimed at facilitating job training and economic independence.
