Japan JC Receives the Prime Minister’s Award for Disaster Prevention

On September 17, 2025, the Japan Junior Chamber (Japan JC), located at VORT Hanzomon, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, received the esteemed "Prime Minister's Award for Disaster Prevention Contributions" from Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence. Human Support

Japan JC coordinated the operations of a volunteer center and rallied volunteers from across the nation. From January 27 to March 6, 2024, a total of 763 members participated in relief efforts at the Nanao City Disaster Volunteer Center, demonstrating the organization’s ability to mobilize human resources effectively.

Material Support

Japan JC also provided vital supplies such as blue tarps (approximately 12,000 units), portable toilets (about 56,000 units), sanitary products (around 118,000 units), and 200 kerosene heaters, among other essential items. These supplies were distributed rapidly to various evacuation centers from January 8, 2024 onwards, showcasing the organization’s efficiency in addressing immediate needs.

Financial Aid

To support recovery and reconstruction efforts, Japan JC established a disaster relief donation account. From January 16 to June 30, 2024, they received donations totaling ¥21,000,000, which were directed toward various recovery initiatives aimed at meeting the diverse needs of affected communities.
