Innovative Workshops at Monozukuri Taikan Stadium 2026: Kids Create Unique Keychains

Engaging Young Minds at Monozukuri Taikan Stadium 2026

Fujidice Co., a leader in the manufacturing of wear-resistant tools and molds from carbide, proudly participated in the experiential event, Monozukuri Taikan Stadium 2026, hosted at the Science and Technology Museum on August 8. This year marks the third consecutive year of their involvement in this initiative, aimed at instilling a love for manufacturing among the younger generation.

The highlight of this year’s participation was a workshop entitled “Bring to Life! Experience Mold Making Through Keychain Creation!” Continuing from last year’s theme, the workshop allowed children to delve into the world of manufacturing by using molds to create personalized keychains.

Crafting Unique Keychains

During the workshop, children began with a brief introduction to the characteristics of carbide and its manufacturing processes. Staff members explained the significance of tasks such as polishing metals to enhance durability and the final engraving processes involved in production. With this foundational knowledge, participants eagerly began their creative journey.

Children chose their favorite shapes and cut leather using molds, demonstrating excitement as they engaged in this first step of crafting. Next, they dedicated themselves to polishing stainless steel plates, ensuring they achieved the desired shine. The culmination of their hard work was during the engraving process, where they selected a letter to etch onto their freshly polished plates alongside their parents before assembling their keychain with a chain.

Voices of Delight

When asked about their favorite part of the workshop, many children responded enthusiastically, sharing that they particularly enjoyed the polishing process or wished they could engrave more letters. Feedback from parents also highlighted keen interest in Fujidice’s business and manufacturing processes, indicating that the workshop sparked curiosity and conversations about the engineering behind the tools.

A Commitment to Future Generations

Fujidice is committed to continue engaging with the youth through events like these, with another workshop planned for November 28, as part of the “Ota Open Factory 2026.” The company aims to convey the joy of manufacturing and the inspirational experiences that come with it to the future leaders of our society.
