Antares Vision Group, a leading Italian multinational known for its Track & Trace systems and quality control solutions, has officially entered a strategic partnership with The Medicines Control Agency (MCA) of The Gambia. This collaboration aims to lay the groundwork for a more secure and transparent pharmaceutical landscape through the innovative DIAMIND Government Solutions.

The signing of this agreement represents a significant milestone, not only for Antares Vision Group but also for the healthcare sector in The Gambia. In a joint effort, the Antares Vision Group will work closely with local Gambian organization, Africa Agenda Network (AAN). This partnership underlines the commitment to ensure that the local context, needs, and stakeholder perspectives are thoroughly considered. AAN President, Mr. Saul Frazer, emphasized the importance of local collaborations for achieving sustainable success in The Gambia and the broader Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) region.

Roadmap for Future Growth

The project is structured to unfold over several phases within a seven-year framework, aiming to:

  • - Broaden Healthcare Digitalization: Implement digital healthcare-related services within the Gambia, ensuring a comprehensive approach to healthcare transformation.
  • - Widen Regulatory Scope: Expand oversight to include medical devices, further enhancing patient safety within the healthcare market.
  • - Align with National Goals: Ensure that efforts closely align with The Gambia’s National Development Agenda for transformative healthcare.

Under the guidance of AAN Managing Director, Ms. Muna Jallow, the project illustrates a commitment to long-term change, addressing the unique challenges and opportunities faced by The Gambia’s healthcare sector.

In summary, by leveraging its Track & Trace expertise and integrating local engagement, the Antares Vision Group and the MCA are poised to create a robust foundation for the future of healthcare regulation and integrity in The Gambia.
