Renewable America's Latest Solar Storage Project Boosts Humboldt Community with Clean Energy

Renewable America's Ambitious Solar Storage Project

On October 6, 2025, Renewable America celebrated the completion of its impressive Foster Clean Power portfolio, an initiative that has positioned Humboldt County at the forefront of renewable energy. The portfolio, which includes two large-scale solar installations totaling 9.4 MWdc along with a substantial battery storage capacity of 10 MWh, is expected to provide clean energy to more than 3,000 homes while simultaneously generating around 50 job opportunities during the construction phase.

The Foster Clean Power Initiative

Initially developed by Radial Power, the Foster Clean Power project comprises two distinct sites: Foster Clean Power A, contributing 4.457 MWdc, and Foster Clean Power B, adding another 4.951 MWdc. These facilities are not just focused on energy production, but they also take ecological responsibility into account by ensuring that they cater to local wildlife, providing pollinator-friendly habitats.

Overcoming Challenges

During the early phases of project development, the team faced significant obstacles. Outdated public records regarding water and utility easements posed threats to the planned sites and access roads. However, through strategic collaboration with Humboldt Water and rigorous surveying, Renewable America successfully remapped the boundaries and swiftly adapted the layout and road design. This strategic intervention not only led to a 75% reduction in access road construction costs, amounting to over $180,000, but it also shortened the project's production timeline by six weeks.

President and CEO of Renewable America, Ardi Arian, expressed pride in the project, emphasizing how thoughtful planning and team cooperation can mitigate unforeseen challenges without sacrificing quality or deadlines. He noted, "This project exemplifies how careful planning and collaboration can overcome unexpected hurdles without compromising cost or schedule. We're proud to deliver a solar and storage portfolio that strengthens local energy reliability while supporting California's clean energy goals."

A Step Forward for Renewable America

With this project, Renewable America has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering locally generated energy solutions. As a leading provider within the field of distributed energy resources, the organization has been working to establish small utility-scale solar plus storage facilities and community microgrids across various regions. Over its 15 years in operation within both Europe and North America, Renewable America has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to resilience in local communities by providing accessible power resources.

Headquartered in Santa Clara, California, the company continues to develop impressive solar and storage projects, boasting over 320 megawatts of solar capacity and 680 MWh of energy storage systems in the pipeline across the state. The Foster Clean Power project demonstrates how forward-thinking solutions can address not only community energy needs but also contribute to broader environmental goals.
