Bakery China 2026: A Hub for Global Baking Innovations

The highly anticipated Bakery China 2026 is set to take place from May 20 to 23 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. Under the compelling theme "Innovate Beyond • Premiere Fusion • Link Future," this year's event promises to be a remarkable gathering for the global baking community, bringing together industry professionals from across the globe. This edition marks the 28th iteration of Bakery China and aims to push the boundaries of baking craft.

Zhang Jiukui, the president of the China Bakery and Confectionery Industry Association, remarked, "With nearly 30 years of history, our platform has become a cornerstone of the baking industry, continually fostering a global hub that drives the baking ecosystem and introduces fresh ideas to the market annually."

The event will showcase an unprecedented scale with over 330,000 square meters of exhibition space spread across 13 pavilions. Attendees can expect to see participation from over 2,200 exhibitors representing more than 70 countries and regions, featuring tens of thousands of products that span various aspects of baking and confectionery. Nearly 400,000 professional visitors from over 130 countries are anticipated, including key players in the baking, chocolate, and related food value chains.

This year's exhibition will see global representation with international brands making up over 20% of the exhibitors. Notable national pavilions from Germany, Italy, and Japan will join newer brands from countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. The significant 30% year-on-year increase in foreign visitor pre-registrations highlights Bakery China's growing status in the global baking market.

In a historic initiative, Bakery China 2026 will host an inaugural forum aimed at supporting the global expansion of Chinese enterprises. Here, strategies related to compliance, supply chain adaptation, and brand localization will be discussed. The exhibition will also unveil thousands of new offerings in raw materials, processing technologies, and business models.

Furthermore, to emphasize the theme, the event will initiate a week-long celebration dedicated to product launches, featuring a competition focused on innovation and the introduction of the Bakery China Industry Handbook. Specialized zones showcasing trends in healthy, pre-manufactured, and smart manufacturing products will also underline significant shifts within the sector.

Beyond the exhibition floor, attendees can participate in professional competitions, live masterclasses, guided tours, and a coffee and bread festival that will enhance business interactions, trend analyses, and networking opportunities. The revamped digital platform, iBakeryChina, connects the physical and digital worlds, creating a unified, multichannel environment tailored for optimizing global supply chain integration.

Additionally, Bakery China 2026 will feature the China Chocolate Industry Exhibition and the China Chocolate Industry Forum 2026, showcasing the entire value chain from cocoa to finished products, featuring leading brands within the chocolate industry.

Finally, from August 27 to 29, Bakery China will make its international debut with Bakery ASEAN in Jakarta, Indonesia, exploring new opportunities within the baking market in the region.
