EMCO Industries Unveils Lightweight Mono-Leaf Spring to Address Trailer OEM Needs

EMCO Industries Launches Innovative Mono-Leaf Spring

In a significant development for the trailer manufacturing industry, EMCO Industries has introduced its latest product: a high-performance mono-leaf spring specifically designed for heavy-duty trailer applications. This new spring is set to alleviate ongoing supply chain challenges that original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and distributors have faced, providing a reliable and cost-effective solution.

Addressing Supply Chain Challenges

The emergence of this mono-leaf spring aligns perfectly with current market needs, as manufacturers encounter persistent uncertainties due to tariffs affecting offshore suppliers. The innovative design offers a remarkable 25% weight reduction compared to conventional 22.4K axle leaf springs, dropping from an unwieldy 53 pounds to a streamlined 40 pounds. Despite the reduction in weight, the performance metrics surpass the standards set by the Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association (TTMA) B-10 fatigue life requirements.

Moreover, the new mono-leaf spring caters to various applications that require lower suspension clearance, proving exceptionally effective for container chassis, flatbed trailers, and drive-on trailers. Based on customer feedback, EMCO anticipates the low-arch variant to garner the most interest.

Commitment to Domestic Manufacturing

EMCO Industries, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is making a strong commitment to domestic production amidst ongoing supply chain uncertainties. Marcus Hester, the company’s president, stated, "In today's environment of supply chain uncertainty, we're providing reliability." This commitment is reinforced by EMCO's plans to invest multimillions into advancing automation and expanding production capacity.

The recent launch coincides with the nearing completion of a new 30,000-square-foot automated manufacturing facility at EMCO. This state-of-the-art addition is projected to double the company’s production capabilities while incorporating robotic cells that work in tandem with skilled labor.

Joel Schubach, chief operating officer of Pratt Industries, expressed enthusiasm for EMCO's innovative approach, saying, "Their commitment to using U.S. steel and investing in a state-of-the-art automated facility right here in America demonstrates exactly what we need more of in this industry. EMCO has proven they will deliver when they say they will deliver."

Trusted Quality and Reliability

For over 35 years, EMCO has specialized in the leaf spring manufacturing domain, leveraging their in-depth experience to develop products aligned with market needs. The company’s engineering team, boasting over a century of cumulative experience, focused on perfecting the design of the mono-leaf spring to meet stringent quality expectations. Hester emphasized, "We’re not going to introduce a product until it’s right. With mono-leaf springs, functionality and durability are critical."

Additionally, these new spring products will be produced using proprietary steel specifications and advanced heat-treating processes to enhance longevity, with each unit individually coated for optimal corrosion resistance.

Beyond just innovative products, EMCO has maintained ISO certification and earned multiple OEM Supplier of the Year accolades, which affirm their dedication to quality and dependability.

Market Availability

EMCO Industries is set to begin accepting orders immediately, with anticipated delivery timelines of approximately eight weeks. This new automated facility is also expected to generate around 20 new jobs in Claremore and its neighboring areas, contributing positively to local employment.

In summary, EMCO Industries' launch of the high-performance mono-leaf spring marks a pivotal moment in the trailer manufacturing industry. With significant investments in technology and a strong focus on reliability and performance, EMCO is well-positioned to meet the evolving demands of trailer OEMs while strengthening domestic production capabilities.
