WeWalk Charity Walkathon Returns to Dubai
On November 15, the Dubai Science Park will host the much-anticipated sixth edition of the charity walkathon,
WeWalk, organized by
TECOM Group in partnership with the
Dubai Charity Association. This community-focused event aims to raise both awareness and funds for the treatment of children suffering from diabetes, an increasingly serious health issue across the Middle East and North Africa.
A Day of Health and Philanthropy
Residents of Dubai are cordially invited to participate in a vibrant morning filled with fitness activities that include a 3.5 km walk/run and a 17 km cycling track. Beyond the sports activities, WeWalk also promotes community engagement with live performances, interactive games, prize giveaways, and educational booths designed to empower attendees with knowledge about diabetes prevention and management.
Diabetes affects over 85 million individuals in the region, highlighting the importance of initiatives like WeWalk. As
Haif Zamzam, Executive Vice President of Strategy & Marketing at TECOM Group, stated, “Educating ourselves about the diverse challenges faced by members of our communities – and helping to alleviate them – is part of our civic duty.” He emphasizes the initiative’s role in enhancing social cohesion and encouraging healthier lifestyle choices among residents.
Collaborative Efforts for a Greater Cause
The event, in line with
We the UAE 2031 and
Dubai Social Agenda 33, is not just a participation endeavor but a call to action for community members to contribute to this worthy cause.
His Excellency Ahmed Al Suwaidi, CEO of the Dubai Charity Association, shared insights on the collaboration, stating, “Our participation stems from our commitment to activating charitable work and strengthening social solidarity.” All proceeds from WeWalk will directly support the Dubai Charity Association and are dedicated to aiding children living with diabetes.
A Spectacular Experience Awaits
Participants can anticipate an exciting atmosphere with opportunities to win fantastic prizes and engage with special activations, including a unique experience with
Real Madrid World, where fans can meet
Roberto Carlos, the legendary footballer and ambassador for the club. Last year’s event drew thousands, and this year promises to be even more exhilarating with numerous activities catering to all age groups.
The event is supported by prestigious partners, including the
Dubai Sports Council,
Dubai Police, and
Dubai Science Park, showcasing a unified effort across public and private sectors for community welfare. Additional partnerships with
Peloton,
AW Rostamani Group, and
Chery UAE elevate the event’s profile, providing a robust platform for community engagement.
WeWalk will start early at 7 AM and conclude by noon, ensuring a fun-filled day for participants. For families, children under five can enter for free, encouraging inclusive participation. Tickets for this charitable event are available on
