Guinea-Bissau's Commitment to Future Health

In an age where secure and traceable access to medications is increasingly vital for public welfare, the Republic of Guinea-Bissau is embarking on an ambitious digital transformation of its national health system. Evidence of this commitment was showcased through the recent official visit by Public Health Minister Eng. Pedro Tipote to Antares Vision Group's headquarters. This visit was instrumental in strengthening the strategic partnership initiated by an agreement signed back in February, with a shared vision to build a fully digitized health ecosystem.

Collaboration between the two entities is centered around establishing a robust pharmaceutical supply chain that ensures transparency and traceability at every stage. The first implementation of a national drug verification and traceability system is set to commence, utilizing advanced technologies provided by Antares Vision Group. Through the rfxcel Traceability Hub (rTH) and rfxcel Government (rGOV) platforms, all stakeholders in the supply chain will be mandated to register, starting in 2025. This will allow for real-time authentication of medications and access to reliable data for regulatory authorities, along with clear digital information for the citizens.

This initiative extends beyond mere pharmaceutical security by aspiring to set a new standard of health innovation across West Africa. The discussions during Minister Tipote's visit also explored the potential establishment of a national pharmaceutical production unit, initially focused on essential medications. This strategy promises benefits not only for Guinea-Bissau but also for neighboring countries that are part of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

Enhancing pharmaceutical logistics was another critical point of discussion, particularly through digital solutions for centralized warehousing and regional distribution. Such enhancements aim to ensure continuity and security throughout the national territory, addressing the needs of every citizen efficiently.

"Through this initiative, Guinea-Bissau aims to position itself as a potential leader in digital health, promoting a model based on reliable data, secure supply chains, and active citizen engagement," stated Minister Pedro Tipote.

Gianluca Mazzantini, CEO of Antares Vision Group, also emphasized the fundamental role that pharmaceutical security plays in the right to health.
