Petal Ads Unveils Comprehensive Marketing Solutions at ITB China 2026

From May 26 to 28, 2026, Shanghai hosted ITB China, an international tourism and culture trade fair that drew over 900 representatives from cultural and tourism institutions across 85 countries and regions. During this significant event, Petal Ads, part of Huawei's HarmonyOS ecosystem, offered pivotal insights into modern marketing strategies designed specifically for the culture and tourism sector.

Petal Ads stood out alongside other Huawei applications like Celia, HUAWEI Browser, HUAWEI SkyTone, Petal Maps, and HUAWEI Music, emphasizing its role as a comprehensive marketing platform. The focus was on a dedicated zone featuring smart cultural and tourism experiences that highlighted how technology could enhance travel planning and enjoyment. Their theme centered around the principle of ‘marketing as content; marketing as a service,’ which shapes the design of their services and products within the cultural tourism ecosystem of HarmonyOS.

Challenges and Innovations in the Tourism Sector

The recent Annual Report on the Development of Chinese Overseas Tourism indicated a shift in the outbound tourism market, moving from a phase of recovery-driven growth to a period marked by structural transformation. In 2025, the number of overseas trips reached 168 million, with over 60% of travelers using AI-driven tools for itinerary planning. However, the cultural and tourism industries face significant challenges.

Some of these challenges include fragmented user engagement on various platforms, which complicates the establishment of direct relationships between brands and users. Additionally, the lack of ongoing management and interaction at crucial touchpoints throughout the traveler's journey hampers overall engagement. Lastly, the inadequate development of intelligent services and personalized experiences makes it challenging to meet increasingly diverse travel needs.

In light of these issues, the comprehensive experience zone at ITB displayed how HarmonyOS can seamlessly improve travel experiences. The approach taken maps the user journey from the initial inspiration through to sharing their experiences after returning, enhancing overall fluidity and connection. Within this ecosystem, media outlets respond dynamically to travelers’ needs, and various devices collaborate in real-time to facilitate better engagement.

Introduction of the Petal Ads 2026 Guide

At ITB, Petal Ads introduced the Petal Ads 2026 Guide for Comprehensive Intelligent Marketing in Culture and Tourism. This guide lays out an all-encompassing approach to smart marketing solutions tailored to the cultural and tourism sectors using insights drawn from more than 440 million HarmonyOS users. It delineates five target traveler personas: Generation Z cultural explorers, efficiency-driven business elites, quality-focused family travelers, luxury vacation seekers, and wellness-oriented seniors. For each persona, the guide proposes tailored strategies and touchpoint combinations, further illustrating the potential of personalized marketing in the industry.

Enhancing Ecosystem Value Through Smart Marketing

The value of the HarmonyOS cultural and tourism ecosystem continues to grow; the principle is straightforward: better experiences lead to longer user engagement, this in turn attracts more brands to the ecosystem, resulting in an enriched service offering that fosters an even better user experience.

Since May 2026, Petal Ads has engaged with over 100 global cultural and tourism institutions, including travel associations, airlines, and hotel chains, to deliver comprehensive services within Huawei's expansive ecosystem. Users can access over 80,000 applications and services on HarmonyOS that cover the entire travel process—from navigation and translation tools to transportation.

Concerning content creation, Petal Ads leverages initiatives like the HUAWEI Image Competition, enhancing intellectual property collaborations and film tourism to push innovative marketing activities further. As part of their ecosystem collaboration, they supply Atomic Services, AI capabilities, and media operations to support partners through the entire value chain—from development to operational readiness.
