Narxoz Business School Launches Its New Campus
On September 15, 2025, Narxoz University celebrated a significant milestone with the grand opening of its new campus for the Narxoz Business School in Almaty, Kazakhstan. This event not only marks a pivotal moment for the institution but also represents a leap forward in business education across Kazakhstan and Central Asia. High-profile guests attended the ceremony, including Darkhan Satybaldy, the Akim (Mayor) of Almaty, and Gulzat Kobenova, the Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan. They were joined by business leaders, diplomats, and academic partners, all of whom highlighted the importance of this development.
The new campus, sprawling over 6,700 square meters, is the result of an extensive reconstruction effort that combines modern architecture with the traditional elements of Narxoz University's historic main building. The design aims to create a “living ecosystem” conducive to interaction, creativity, and collaboration among students and faculty. The facilities on offer are state-of-the-art, including digital labs, co-working spaces showcasing Kazakhstani art, and an advanced video recording area for the production and distribution of educational content.
Kanat Kozhakhmet, the President of Narxoz University, remarked on the occasion, emphasizing that Narxoz is now regarded as a leading institution for business education in the region. He stated, “This new campus is a clear reflection of our commitment to uphold global educational standards and foster innovation. With programs available in English, Kazakh, and Russian, we equip our students with world-class education while they remain in Kazakhstan.”
Aidan Akanov, CEO of Verny Capital, who played a crucial role in the financing of the campus, noted that the project received over $14 million in investment. This funding aims to enhance the educational infrastructure, curricular offerings, and overall academic environment at Narxoz. Additionally, he highlighted that the school is ranked among the top 50 business schools in Asia according to the QS Global MBA 2025 rankings, positioning it as a hub for leadership and knowledge in the region.
The Narxoz Business School has a rich history, having graduated more than 3,000 students from its MBA, EMBA, DBA, and corporate programs over the past 17 years. It consistently attracts renowned faculty and alumni from prestigious institutions such as Harvard, Yale, INSEAD, ESMT Berlin, and IMD. This newly inaugurated campus aims to further the school's reputation by providing a stimulating environment that fosters leadership and innovation among today's and tomorrow's business leaders.
Through this expansion, Narxoz University is not only committing to its students' education but also to the economic development of Kazakhstan, aiming to prepare its graduates to lead and innovate in a rapidly changing global market. The inauguration of this campus exemplifies a significant investment in both infrastructure and academic excellence. As Narxoz continues to adapt to evolving educational needs, it is poised to play a critical role in shaping the business landscape of Kazakhstan and Central Asia for years to come.
