Marrakech Air Show 2024: A Landmark Event in Aerospace



The Marrakech Air Show 2024 took place from October 30 to November 2, under the auspices of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. This significant event, hosted at the Royal Air Force base, was marked by the participation of 194 exhibitors and the attendance of almost 30,000 visitors. It served to reinforce Morocco’s growing stature in the international aerospace sector.

A Showcase of Global Excellence



Renowned aerospace leaders such as Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Embraer, and Safran presented their latest technological advancements. A standout attraction was the UAE's pavilion, which covered over 800 square meters, showcasing the innovations of prominent Emirati companies.

The show not only served as a platform for aerospace professionals but also facilitated essential agreements that highlighted Morocco's attractiveness as a competitive aeronautics hub. A notable agreement was the establishment of the African Centre of Manufacturing Excellence (ACME), a collaborative project with Boeing aimed at fostering advanced manufacturing research.

Embryo of growth, Embraer also signed various agreements that encompass projects across commercial aviation, defense, and urban mobility, further enriching Morocco's industrial landscape. Partnerships with local firms like TRELLEBORG and Composite Industrie Maroc were also finalized, effectively enhancing the local supply chains.

Promoting Human Capital and Innovation



A significant theme emerging from the 2024 show was the emphasis on human capital and innovation. Over 100 engineering students from Moroccan universities actively participated in the event, indicating the vital role local talent plays in the advancement of the industry. A dedicated area of 500 square meters was reserved for startups, presenting innovative breakthroughs and reflecting the promising future of aerospace.

The Moroccan aeronautics sector has exhibited remarkable growth, doubling the number of active companies to 151 over the past decade. Employment within the industry has risen to 24,000 individuals, with the sector generating an impressive 2 billion dirhams in monthly exports. In 2024 alone, the sector witnessed a 23% growth.

The conclusion of the show on November 2 welcomed the public to engage with aircraft displays and a captivating airshow that drew nearly 20,000 spectators. This spectacle marked a fabulous closure to the seventh iteration of the Marrakech Air Show. The event's success underscored Morocco's dynamic advances in the aerospace domain and its commitment to becoming a leading player on the global stage.
