Experience the Legacy of Okayama Korakuen: A Kids Workshop

On June 27, 2026, Okayama University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Education, will host a unique workshop designed for children at the historical Okayama Korakuen Garden. This event invites elementary and middle school students, accompanied by their guardians, to delve into the rich heritage of one of Japan's most famous gardens.

What to Expect

The 'Okayama Korakuen Discovery Workshop' promises an engaging adventure where children can explore the garden alongside university students. Participants will have the opportunity to walk on a large replica map that illustrates both the past and present of Okayama Korakuen, bringing the area's history to life in an interactive manner.

Who Can Join?

The workshop is geared towards elementary school students (4th grade and above) and middle school students, along with their parents or guardians. A total of approximately 20 children will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, so early registration is encouraged!

Participation Fee

The workshop itself is free of charge. However, guardians will need to pay the entrance fee to Okayama Korakuen Garden.

Registration Process

Prior registration is mandatory for participation. Here are the ways to sign up:

2. Fax Registration: Send the completed application form found on the back of the flyer to the designated fax number. Download Flyer
3. Email Registration: Fill out the following details and email them to the provided contact:
- Subject: Application for Korakuen Workshop
- Participant child's name (with furigana)
- Name of the school (elementary/middle)
- Grade
- Gender
- Contact information (preferably an email or phone number)
- Number of accompanying adults and children, along with the age of the children.
Ensure that your information is clear and complete. Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email within one week. For any inquiries or if you receive no response, please contact us.

Important Notes

• - Be sure to prepare for hot weather conditions on the day of the event.
• - Photos and videos will be taken during the workshop for promotional purposes. Participants should be aware that these materials may be shared publicly.
