2025 Young Investigator Awards: Nurturing Future Innovators in Oncology
On May 30, 2025, during the annual ASCO meeting in Chicago, the Conquer Cancer®, part of the ASCO Foundation, proudly presented the 2025 Young Investigator Awards (YIAs) with generous support from Vaniam Group™ and Women Leaders in Oncology® (WLO). These awards serve as a beacon of hope, highlighting the critical work of early-career physician scientists committed to revolutionizing cancer research.
Two remarkable recipients, Dr. Jimmitti Teysir and Dr. Annabelle Anandappa, were honored for their pioneering research efforts. Dr. Teysir of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is recognized as the 5th recipient of the Conquer Cancer-Vaniam Group LLC Young Investigator Award. Her innovative work centers on understanding breast cancer disparities by examining genetic ancestry and tumor biology, striving to develop more targeted treatment strategies. Dr. Anandappa, on the other hand, represents the WLO's mission through her significant research at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, where she investigates the pathogenic role of inflammatory signaling in RAS-mutated acute myeloid leukemia.
