On October 20, 2025, Prime Minister Hun Manet officially opened the Techo International Airport (KTI), a significant landmark that positions Cambodia as a vital hub for travel, trade, and tourism in Southeast Asia. This event was attended by dignitaries from several countries including ambassadors from France, the United States, and Japan, emphasizing the airport's international significance.

Designed by the renowned British firm Foster + Partners, KTI is more than just an airport—it is a celebration of Cambodian heritage. The terminal features Khmer-inspired architecture, with elements such as a towering 9-meter Abhayamudra Buddha statue and over 200 handcrafted stone sculptures by local artisans. Currently, the airport boasts operations from 31 airlines across 44 direct routes, facilitating approximately 13,500 passengers daily. The airport is also expected to generate around 10,000 jobs, dramatically increasing employment opportunities as compared to the previous airport.
