Seminar Announcement: Google's AI Mode and Emergency Measures
The Japan SEO Association, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, is excited to announce an upcoming seminar titled "Google's Search Transformation: Emergency Response to AI Mode." This event will take place both online via Zoom and at three locations across Japan: Shimbashi, Tokyo, on November 19, 2025, at Umeda, Osaka, on November 6, 2025, and at Ai-Chi Industry Labor Center, Nagoya, on November 27, 2025.
In September 2025, Google officially launched its "AI Mode" in Japan, marking a significant shift in how search queries are managed. Beginning from September 9, users have noticed the gradual introduction of AI Mode on their devices, signifying a new era in search functionality.
AI Mode leverages Google’s generative AI to interpret user queries effectively, synthesizing information to deliver the best possible answers. This novel search experience has already been rolled out in over 180 countries and regions, fundamentally altering the search landscape.
Reports indicate a disturbing trend: many businesses are witnessing a drop in traffic from Google following the implementation of AI Mode. The traditional search process—inputting keywords, reviewing a list of results, and selecting interested pages—is rapidly becoming obsolete. Instead, AI Mode presents summarized responses directly on the search interface, allowing for conversational queries that redefine user interaction.
This shift represents a pivotal moment in the history of SEO. Now, the focus must pivot from achieving high ranks in search results to ensuring that AI recognizes and represents your website effectively. Failure to adapt to this new reality may result in drastically reduced traffic.
In the seminar, our expert speaker, Masashi Suzuki, will cover several key areas:
- - Insights from an interview with Google's Vice President of Product
- - Analysis of AI Mode from reputable international media outlets
- - Comparative studies of domestic business websites featured in the AI Mode
- - Practical advice from clients already benefiting from AI Mode
Through these discussions, attendees will learn practical strategies to ensure their websites are picked up by AI Mode. If you're keen to stay ahead in the evolving realm of AI-driven search marketing, this seminar is tailored for you.
