Envision Launches the World’s First Commercial Green Ammonia Shipment to South Korea

Envision Pioneers Green Ammonia Shipments

Envision, a renowned leader in green technologies, has made a groundbreaking achievement by initiating the world's first commercial shipment of green ammonia. This historic event took place on February 26, 2026, with the cargo departing from Envision’s state-of-the-art facility located in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, and destined for LOTTE Fine Chemical in South Korea. This shipment signifies the completion of an end-to-end commercial delivery of green ammonia, incorporating the entire supply chain from the synthesis of renewable hydrogen to maritime logistics.

The Chifeng facility, recognized as the largest global production base for green hydrogen and ammonia, operates solely on a cutting-edge renewable power system. Envision employs physical AI to efficiently manage and integrate both wind and solar energy sources, ensuring a reliable supply for the synthesis process.

Yimin Lou, Envision Energy's Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer, expressed the significance of this shipment, stating, "This vessel carries more than just ammonia; it carries our commitment to a sustainable future. By successfully launching this first vessel, we have demonstrated that the green ammonia value chain is no longer just a blueprint—it is a reality. Utilizing Physical AI to tap into the renewable resources of the Gobi Desert, we are now positioned to deliver zero-carbon fuel starting with our partners in South Korea."

The excitement of this venture is also echoed by Seung Won Chung, CEO of LOTTE Fine Chemical, who highlighted the big picture of this milestone. He noted that the introduction of green ammonia not only signifies progress at a corporate level but also marks a pivotal moment on a national scale for fostering a robust green hydrogen and ammonia value chain. Such innovations are pivotal for combating the climate crisis and transitioning to carbon-free energy solutions. Chung committed to collaborating with global industry leaders to solidify their position as Asia’s premier clean ammonia hub.

As Envision continues to expand its operations, it aims to produce 320,000 tons of green ammonia annually, with plans to commence this large-scale export by the fourth quarter of 2025. The company's proprietary technology package supports both hydrogen and ammonia production processes, projecting an increase in output to 1.5 million tons per year by 2028. This ambition illustrates a replicable model for the establishment of clean industrial hubs globally.

In addition to its production capabilities, Envision’s green ammonia has received esteemed certifications and meets rigorous industry standards. These include ISCC EU, ISCC PLUS, and RFNBO compliance. Notably, the company’s innovative wind-to-hydrogen system employs specialized AI technology to enhance efficiency and reliability throughout the entire conversion process—from harnessing wind energy to creating green molecules.

The project gained global recognition during the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) held in Davos, where it was presented as a flagship case study in a white paper focused on the business case for energy infrastructure. This acknowledgment reinforces Envision's role as a benchmark in the global transition towards zero-carbon industrial practices.

In conclusion, Envision's pioneering effort in green ammonia production not only sets a precedent for sustainable energy initiatives but also positions the company at the forefront of a transformative industry shift. In the face of the climate crisis, such innovations are paramount, underscoring the importance of united efforts to build a more sustainable and resilient future.
