Frederick Flying Cows Host a World Record Breaking Festival
The wait is finally over! This Sunday, October 26, the Frederick Flying Cows will host their annual Cowfest at the Great Frederick Fairgrounds from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Families, fans, and festival-goers are invited to a unique afternoon filled with fun, music, food, and community spirit.
At the event's core is an ambitious attempt to break the world record for the largest gathering of individuals dressed as cows. With a playful atmosphere, the Flying Cows aim to create history through unity, creativity, and an abundance of cow-themed attire.
Cowfest boasts a myriad of activities suitable for attendees of all ages. One of the highlights is the thrilling Helicopter Candy Drop, where sweets will rain down from above, adding excitement to the festivities. Additionally, the event features the 'Running of the Cows' Fun Run, organized in partnership with Charm City Run, promoting health and community engagement.
The entertainment lineup will include live performances from popular local artists such as Milk Mountain and the Let There Be Rock School, along with DJ George from All In One Events. The dynamic atmosphere will be amplified throughout the day, creating memorable experiences for everyone. Children can also look forward to the Udder Fun Kids Zone, which will feature over 30 community partners and vendor booths.
Those with a hearty appetite will have plenty of options from local food trucks, including favorites like The Alley Wagon, Bruster's Ice Cream, and Piece O' Cake. Adults over 21 can enjoy a refreshing drink in the Moo Brew Garden, partnering with Brewer's Alley, McClintock Distilling, and Linganore Winecellars. For a truly authentic experience, guests will have the chance to meet real cows, including friendly animals from Clarity Cow Cuddling and lovable Highland cows from Black Rock Farm.
Tickets for Cowfest are currently priced at just $5. However, they will increase to $10 for adults over 13 at the entrance. Kids aged three and under can enjoy the festival for free. An exclusive Onesie + Ticket Bundle is available for $29.99, which includes admission and an official Flying Cows onesie, perfect for those joining the world record attempt. Pre-purchased onesies can be conveniently picked up on-site on the day of the event. While attendees are encouraged to wear the official onesie, any cow print clothing will also count toward the record attempt.
Chris Jenkins, General Manager of the Flying Cows, shared his sentiments about the festival: "Cowfest embodies the spirit of the Frederick Flying Cows — family, fun, and community. We are not just about basketball; we aim to create moments that make Frederick proud. Cowfest is a realization of that vision."
Fans will not only enjoy the festival but will also get the chance to meet Flying Cows players and coaches, who will announce exciting developments for the team that promise to take them to new heights!
Through partnerships with local businesses and the wider community, Cowfest is destined to be a signature fall event, sparking conversations across Frederick for weeks to come. Tickets and official Flying Cows onesies are now available at
