Alps Blockchain Transitions to a New Corporate Identity as Alps

Alps Blockchain Rebrands to Alps

Introduction

Alps Blockchain, a prominent name in the European digital infrastructure and Bitcoin mining sector, has recently announced a significant rebranding. As of now, the company will be known simply as "Alps." This strategic shift reflects its evolution from a pioneering Bitcoin mining operator to a fully integrated infrastructure company specializing in advanced data centers.

A New Chapter for Alps

The rebranding comes at a pivotal moment for Alps as it scales its operations to meet the growing demand for digital computing power. According to Francesco Buffa, CEO and co-founder of Alps, the change underscores their transformation: "We are no longer just a blockchain company; we are an infrastructure company. Our focus has shifted towards designing, building, and managing high-efficiency data centers that convert energy into digital computing power."

This newfound identity positions Alps to offer comprehensive solutions that encompass everything from Bitcoin mining using ASIC systems to the anticipated development of high-performance computing (HPC) for artificial intelligence applications.

Financial and Operational Growth

Francesca Failoni, CFO and co-founder of Alps, emphasized that the ability to generate computational power for the Bitcoin network has historically provided the company with a stable and unprecedented cash flow in the digital infrastructure landscape. This strong financial base enables Alps to adopt a long-term vision and strategically integrate new applications, such as AI, into their existing infrastructure.

Since its inception in 2018, Alps has designed and managed energy-efficient modular data centers in various locations, including Italy, Paraguay, Ecuador, Oman, and the United States. Alps has contracts and energy agreements in place aiming for an impressive 15 EH/s of computational power in the near future, which is approximately 1.5% of the global Bitcoin hash rate.

Alps currently has over 250 MW of installed or ready-to-deploy capacity, boasting industry-leading energy efficiency of 15.4 J/TH. The company has set ambitious expansion plans to continue this trajectory through 2029.

Comprehensive Value Chain Integration

The shift to the name Alps better encapsulates the broadened mission of the company, positioning it as a key player at the intersection of energy and digital infrastructure. Alps integrates the entire value chain, from site development and electrical engineering to the fabrication of containerized data centers, and local operations, allowing for scalable and sustainable implementation worldwide.

Despite the rebranding, the legal structure, shareholder composition, and ongoing projects of the company remain unchanged.
